With the labor shortage following the "Great Resignation", the staffing industry has never been more lucrative. Recruiters have reported an uptick in business by over 60% nationwide, with tech recruiters and recruiters in hard-to-find roles like trucking reporting increases of over 100% in business.
"We just can't keep up with the demand anymore! I used to have to cold-call in order to find clients, but now they are cold-calling me!" says Nancy Sheffield, a 20 year veteran of the tech-recruiting industry who left Robert-Half to start her own independent agency.
With the uptick in business, many are leaving their full-time jobs and pursuing the staffing industry, where recruiters can earn upwards of $20K for a single placement, bringing annual earnings up to over $200K.
